Main Skill:

Main Skill: Photography – Tom’s main skill is photography and he is incredibly talented. Since being given a camera in 2003, when he was eight, for Christmas by his grandfather, Malcolm, who is also a photographer, Tom has excelled. Taught by Malcolm, he exhibited his first work aged 9 in December, 2004 in Porthcawl’s Young Artist’s Exhibition. Other exhibits as followed:

Secondary Skill: Music – Tom is also a keen musician and alongside being able to play guitar, he enjoys playing his ukulele too. A Spongebob Square Pants ukulele that Dominic gifted him for his 15^th birthday and it is another one of Tom’s most valued possessions. He has other ukuleles, one acoustic guitar and an electric. He plays rhythm guitar in the band he formed with Sticks Woods, Jasper Maguire and Will Bennet in October, 2008, and later Dominic Johnson joined in September, 2009: Attack of the Rhododendrons. He can play piano relatively well also, and writes some of the songs for the band. He can also play bass guitar after being taught by Will Bennet. He is adept at recording music, using recording software and mixing it too.

Third Skill: Graphic Design – Tom, while not that passionate as an artist, can draw relatively well but sticks to doodles and cartoons. He transfers these skills to graphic design and designs the band’s EP and later their first album.

Main Weakness: Maths – Tom is not strong at Maths and loathes it. He struggles with mental arithmetic and doesn’t grasp the fundamentals. He also finds it very boring indeed. He received tutoring for it in the Lower Years.

Secondary Weakness: Languages – Tom struggles with languages too and can only speak some French, aided by Dominic Johnson, and some German, aided by Erika Waterstone. He scraped by on a low C at GCSE for French. He has also never been able to speak his native tongue, Welsh either, no matter how much his grandmother, Angela, tries to teach him.

Third Weakness: Sciences – Like Maths, Tom detests all sciences but especially physics. He received tutoring for it in the Lower Years. He’s not awful at Biology however and enjoys Chemistry but doesn’t understand it.

Hobbies: Tom’s main hobby is photography. Every sunset and sunrise, he wants to capture. He usually has his camera on him, either his digital or film. If he’s not taking photos, he’s developing them in a darkroom where he spends the majority of his time, or editing them on his laptop. He also enjoys hanging out with his friends; going to gigs, playing in the band, hanging out at the pub or in the dorm. He likes parties and the occasional rave where he’s a recreational drug user. He loves listening to music and adores reading non-fiction books about his favourite photographers.

Other Skills: Tom isn’t an artist per see but he’s strong at graphical design and enjoys it. If photography didn’t work out, he could succeed in a graphic design career. Furthermore, Tom is also a very strong cook. He excels in cooking, having learnt at his grandmother’s hip. He also enjoys cooking too and is a natural at it. He can also dance rather well, thanks again to his grandmother, Angie. Furthermore, Tom is a strong singer and often sings some of the songs for the band. He also writes several of their songs too, adept in both guitar and piano, and able to read and write sheet music.
